This Independence Day, Be Counted!
Independence Day – July 4, 1776 – started America on the road to becoming a free nation.
Freedom through representation played a central theme in our country’s formation. In the U.S. Constitution, the founding fathers designed the census — to take place every 10 years — to ensure every citizen received fair representation in the U.S. government. While it took more than a century for all citizens to be legally represented, the core idea was there from the beginning.
Progress still needs to be fought for, but you can help promote fair representation by taking the 2020 U.S. Census.
Greater Participation = Greater Representation
Census data ensures fair representation in the U.S. Congress and decides how billions in government funds are spent in local communities around the country. Community education, roads, health care and emergency services programs receive money from the government.
Make sure everyone counts.
Take the census.
