Non-Profit Partners
The 2020 Census needs your help. Those in the non-profit sector serve numerous communities that are dependent on federally funded programs – with funding based directly on decennial census data. The census data we collect will affect the distribution of hundreds of billions of dollars in funds over the next decade for community programs – programs that address poverty, hunger, homelessness, child care, emergency services and public safety.
Why Are Non-Profit Partners Important?
Your connection to the communities you serve could make a real difference in obtaining a complete count in the 2020 U.S. Census. Historically, certain populations have been hard to count, populations served by non-profit organizations such as yours.
Hard-to-count populations include:

Members of racial and ethnic minority groups

Households with children under age 5

Immigrants
Your role in reaching many of those hard-to-count individuals could have a positive and critical impact on your community.
How You Can Help
You and your organization are in a great position to help get the word out about the 2020 Census. Here are some ideas for doing just that:

Be sure to connect with public officials as you promote and educate around the census. Public officials have a big stake in ensuring a complete count and are in strong positions themselves to promote and educate on the importance of the census.

Provide an area with computers or tablets that people can use to respond to the census online - also known as a Census Live! Location

Promote census hiring by sharing the 2020 Census recruitment website: 2020Census.gov/jobs

If you have a forum, host an informational event or invite Census Bureau staff to speak to the community.
Raise awareness and educate your communities on the importance of the census through your communication channels (including social media and website) and public spaces.
